Question of the Week – How did Health Care “Reform” Change Rules for 26 year-old Dependents?

There is a lot of confusion coming out of Health Care Reform.

There is a lot of talk that the government is using this to position itself to take over the whole Health Care Industry for example.

What is known is that a lot of rules changed immediately with the passage of the bill.

One such rule is extending the age for dependents to Age 26 to stay on their folks’ health insurance.

I got a call this week from a client about that… for the time being, the “overage” (past age 19) dependents still need to be full-time students.

Whether or not the rules change so those dependents can still be carried regardless of being a student or not remains to be changed.
