If you use Sub-Contractors, Read This

On Worker’s Comp – be sure they are incorporated or have a filed exemption from Worker’s Comp with the Contractor’s License Board or other body… or you will have to report what you pay them as payroll for Worker’s Comp.

These regulations are being enforced more vigorously and if you get the situation taken care of before getting caught (so to speak) – then you’ll be a lot better off.

On Liability Insurance – you need to report subcontractor costs as well. There is liability when you have someone “working” for you as a Sub-Contractor that the insurance carrier needs to know about.

I write this to save you some heartburn on the back end with a policy audit. Please call the office if you have any questions.
