What we’re working on right now… look close in the second half of 2009

I have a client with a vacant home being remodeled – we can help>

Flood Insurance? With the national flood insurance program recently renewed – we can roll on with those.

Bill and Lori Pantel of Citrus Heights just saved $1300 by switching away from Farmers.

With Healthcare “reform” passing – look for individual Health Insurance rates to spike up. The 39% jump from Wellpoint was a pre-emptive measure due to what they saw in the bill.

Immediately – the bill mandates coverage be offered on a guaranteed issue bases with no declinations for pre-existing conditions. One other provision is that premiums can not be based on age. Both will cause price spikes.

In addition – they are cutting payments to hopsitals and attempting to dictate to Doctors what they can accept for payments… both will result in even fewer choices.

It would seem that this was a deliberate breaking of the Health Care system to pave the way for some-sort of Single Payer socialized healthcare system.

Please also look for a rash of lawsuits to start coming from individual states.

We are still seeing Homeowner’s Insurance and Auto Insurance rate increases coming from all of our carriers. They are all in the 3-7% range – but we are watching all of our renewals closely.

In addition, we are seeing tightening in the Work Comp marketplace – several companies there are taking modest bumps and are also reducing the scope of what they are writing.

Just an Update
