Have you walked the American River Parkway?

My wife and I are fond of waking along the American River Parkway.

They recently did some levee work and when they did the levee work, the County must have seeded the ground with wildflowers.

We have seen tons of california poppies, purple heather and dandelions… when mixed together, it is really neat.

You’ll need to run out to the section between Watt and the Arden pond. The heat is probably going to get the flowers soon.

If you look close – you will see some White Poppies – I counted 15 of them in the fields of orange. Exceedingly rare – but kind of a trip amongst all the “normal” poppies.

Do any of you know some good hikes in the Sacramento Area you’d like to share???

All this and we get 3.5 miles in!!!
