Could Hartford Insurance be Headed for a Break-UP?

According to the below article – Hartford’s P and C operation could draw as much as $7 Billion in the open market. The P and C division has been very profitable and stable.

Hartford is in line for a bailout due to their life insurance division and the policies they have that are market-sensitive. The guarantees of interest rates are draining the reserves of the life insurance division dry.

The National Underwriter thinks that the breakup of Hartford is likely if they don’t get bailed out…
